Jared Fisher’s Las Vegas Cyclery in Las Vegas makes more energy than it uses and has been doing so since 2012. One of the first Net Zero buildings in Nevada, the bicycle shop retail and service experience designed and built by Creative FIT, Inc and TWC Construction is celebrating more than 10 years of LEED Platinum-certified certification.
The Las Vegas Cyclery shares an overview of their Net Zero operations in their self-guided Green Building Tour which covers:
Sustainable Sites
Water Efficiency
Energy & Atmosphere
Materials & Resources
Indoor Environmental Quality
“Las Vegas Cyclery was designed to meet the goals of the LEED rating system, a prescriptive approach to assessing green buildings. The scope of work for the project was to build from the ground up so the applicable LEED rating system was for New Construction.
Additionally, the building was designed to provide 100% of its energy needs throughout the calendar year. This is referred to a “Net Zero Energy Building” (NETZEB). Essentially, Las Vegas Cyclery is its own power plant.”
